In my family, it is the atheists who act self righteous. They say they are too "smart" to believe such "nonsense". They are the ones persecuting me for my beliefs (as they stick their noses up in the air and look down at me).

I don't judge. My brother doesn't believe. My dad and I do. He was baptized as a baby so it's all good, lol.

So it just goes to show that there is judgement from all sides.

As for the rape having no bearing on virginity, I see it a little bit differently. I don't put stock into the virginity concept. Personally, I think it's crap. I was robbed of having an enjoyable consensual sexual experience until I was over 30. All because I was molested at age 4. So really, I never had a "first" (of my own will) nor do I feel like pretending that I did.

Psalms 54-56 is a biblical model of David's way to deal with adversity and fear.

I would include Psalms 57. I find David to be very comforting. His prayers are similar to my own.

With the Holy Spirit, I hope you can seek out a denomination that "feeds" your soul and your spirit and heals your spiritual and psychic wounds.

Just this past week, I found I had to leave the particular ward I was attending and go to one where they treat me like a real human not a mental case. Where I was, they only see me as "that ptsd multiple person", not a whole person. They thought because I have a "mental" issue, everything is all mental. So, I also say, use the Holy Spirit as your guild. Know that Jesus truly does understand what you went through, and the man who did this to you will pay dearly for what he did. Read Mathew 18:6-7.

"Rape does not occur in loving marriages. It occurs in abusive ones. We can work to heal from the effects of trauma, learn ways to keep ourselves safe and be drawn to good, loving relationships. This is part of the healing process." (Forgot who said this, but I so agree.)

I believe that 'godly behaviour' is suppose to be from within and not come as a judgement from others.

God is your conscience. You answer to yourself and will be your own judge.

Which is also why I look at most people who judge and ask myself do have they the right to judge me?

The problem with atheists is that for most cases they act according to their own judgements but do not necessarily possess the qualities of someone who is 'godly'.

I say godly to describe a way of being without judgement towards others. Think about what drives a self righteous person? what is their gain? Should these type of people be in the position to judge?

If their aim was to control the thoughts and beliefs of others based on their own judgements, who is it to say their judgement was right. It might have been for them but not for the person they are incorrectly judging.

Which brings me back nicely to you can only judge yourself.

I think rape will certainly have a bearing on virginity. For some, although it was not consensual, it still happened, it still took away a part of you that was integral with being a virgin and what it denotes according to the bible. Again this is a judgement of others.

If you forgive the trespass others have done and claim back what they took emotionally then a feeling of personal judgement will be easier to bear and acceptance to allow yourself love despite the past. That will allow you to continue a more peaceful present and future.

I don't think you can deny the past but allowing it to continue to judge you becomes a form of self abuse. You are judging yourself too harshly.

Nobody has the right to judge you on your own beliefs. :)

Not a judgement. More of a fact. You can't argue that atheists dont lack SOME quality that believers have because at the very least athiests lack belief in a higher power.

Everyone lacks some quality. Not just Atheists, Christians too. Atheists might be ungodly, but Christians can be just as ungodly. Also, I agree with Heidi.
