Random update...

I emailed my father, and reminded him of that "cathartic" cycle he had described. Then included a link to diagram showing the same cycle/pattern (yes kids, that would be the 'cycle of abuse' diagram).

I also said that things are not cathartic for those on the receiving end.

I said I wasn't comfortable pretending that I was ok with the things he said or how he treats people - and asked him and my mother to give me space and not interested in contact at this point. At least he has respected that, no response.
