Tornadic Thoughts
MyPTSD Pro
I still hope to one day learn to crochet and/or knit. It always amazes me what can be created.
The furniture decoupage fascinates me, too. LOVE the bird scene!
I have my late mom's sewing machine here now, but I still struggle with becoming one with the bobbin. Grrr... Maybe one day I'll get the hang of it.
I've been testing out a new crafty venture by, so far, using things found in nature to do some bleach dyes with. It reminds me of shadow work, of sorts, and I sure as hell can relate to that. lol
I immediately discovered the importance of finding a spray bottle that does not drip as you spray the bleach. Damn details. ?
Next try will be using some old doilies and other things I found in an old craft box that I think/hope will make good stencil-like options.
I liked that it was quick and easy to set up, fun to find items to use that are freely provided and already on hand, and it's an instant reward kind of scene - or instant learning experience - whichever shows up first. ?
Major drippage happenin' with these two, then the bleach that pooled up on the leaves as I sprayed dripped when I not-so-gracefully lifted them:

Notes to self:
- Flatten the leaves as much as possible before your next attempt.
- Have a towel handy to soak up excess bleach - very carefully and slowly.
- Test the spray bottle on multiple settings several times to see if it drips before committing to using it with the bleach mixture.
- Find some old dark pillow cases to continue to practice on.
