Today was 21 C so getting up to a heat wave for you Marvel... giggle.. And it was sunny, no breeze & blue skies..

I get sunburn in this kind of weather :laugh:

Mischievous.

I don’t associate this area with Mischief Weather. It’s either raining, or about to. Not a lot of impishness there. But every once in awhile?

• Brilliant blue skies, golden sun, and icy slashing wind???
• Pouring buckets, sleet mixed with snow, but hot & steamy out???
• Sunny sunny sunny 12 minutes of rain sunny sunny sunny (Where are we, the east coast?)
• Rainbows without rain (or waterfalls, or fog, or mist, or drizzle; apparently the stratosphere is just extra damp today? Feeling colorful? IDFK).
• Purple black storm clouds, bringing warm dry winds scented with desert??? And not a drop spilt. (The f*ck? How far did YOU travel to loom all threatening like before disappearing out to sea?)
• Flooding without rain (we flood WITH rain, all the time, salmon swimming across the highways & soccer fields & other ‘life is weird’ moments when the water table says It’s MINE! It ALL MINE!) But the flash flooding common to canyon country and southerly snowpack just doesn’t happen here. Except it is.

Yep. It’s mischief weather, alright.

We've had a little bit of rain!!! Yay.... and the sky is pale and grey. But it's only damped down the surface so far. It's fairly cool now too. 19 C max and 13 o/night. Maybe more rain tomorrow...

We've had rain... and enough of it to actually justify writing about!

It started late yesterday and it belted down so hard it hit the earth like a jackhammer... the drops were rebounding off the hardened, compacted earth in complete rejection.

It ran over the top of the bare ground collecting the top few millimetres of loosened dust and created crazy patterns as it weaved it's way down the slope. No.. no...stop beautiful precious water please stay long enough to soak in..but gone... sigh....

Then it fulfilled my deep fears and stopped. This isn't fair. Over the remainder of the day a cold wind whipped up and dark angry clouds whipped around skudding in with loads of promise and then scooting away mocking at our expectations. What a tease you are really.....

Then over-night I was woken by strange vibrations... (no not that kind! :rolleyes: lol) And not a truck in my living room. I saw flashes at the edge of my windows.. I wandered out to the kitchen to get a better look at the horizon and the sky was illuminated with lightning and the vibrations from the thunder shook the house. I stood for several watching this beautiful display.

As brilliant as it was to view, I still cursed. Yet another dry storm. More bushfires alerts.. sigh....

Then I felt another vibration... a roar.... rain... :)

It's 37 F, it's raining now and they're predicting possibly an inch of snow tonight. Enough already!

It's been slowly warming up but I can't say it's actually warm. 58F. The sun makes an appearance every so often but for the most part it's been lots of rain on and off for a few days. The lakes are high and some areas have flooding. More storms are rolling in as we speak.

Currently 7a.m. 48F and raining. Calling for a high of 68F. Supposed to stop raining by the time I get off work. ???
