Yesterday was Optical Illusion Day
Warm water -comparatively- hit cold air and sunshine at dawn, and the lake became a river of ice. Mist clinging to the black trees, perfectly unmoving, like snow over the ground. Like a memory laid over reality, but shake your head and blink your eyes, and it's still there. Frozen landscape, locked in winter.
False sunrise at midnight. Ice crystals in the sky turned the light pollution of the city into the silver & blue skies of true dawn, with red and gold stained glass clouds filtering sunlight/ over the horizon.
Today? The sky is where it belongs, sun in it lighting the summer lands green in the still air, & the lake is glass. I'd say we've achieved normality... But it ain't started raining, yet. Once it does we'll be returned to our regularly scheduled program.
