32 C - no breeze. Another day of heavy smoke haze. Dirty, hard to breathe air. The sky is one enormous sheet of slate grey.
So while it's eerily quiet here... to the North two very large cyclones are coming over the Coast.
Wind speeds in one are estimated at 280 km (or about 170 m/ph) and a state of emergency has been placed over the region. The media are saying it's the biggest evacuation since the 1970's... but that's a bit misleading bc there are more people in that region now so well, that's not a record that's going to be hard to break.. Media!
Still both cyclones are intense. The Bureau of Meteorology has suggested that only houses made of solid concrete will stand up to the cyclonic winds. I've been through a couple of cyclones. It's scary but the sheer magnitude of nature's strength is strangely hypnotic too.. Weird in other words.
Well the rain lasted about half an hour.. and fizzled. Replaced by sharp gusts of wind that rattled the whole house..and rocked all of the big trees around me and made them roar.. Then the wind fizzled out too and it was cool and quiet.
Today was a lovely crisp Autumn day 26 C. A slight breeze and clear blue sky.
But wait... snow is being forecast in some mountain areas.. Yay! Cool weather :)
It rained many different ways today. It sprinkled, drizzled, lightly rained, rain rained, poured, down poured etc. etc. Now it's back to sprinkling and 34F. (It was an awesome lazy rainy day!!)
