I feel odd that the common experience isn't my experience in the least. I don't doubt in the least that this happens, or even doubt that it happens a lot-----just curious why I don't personally experience this. I feel like I live on another planet! I guess to be fair I have lead a pretty sheltered life. :-/

I just wanted to add that I am struggling with this very issue... My daughter is a very pretty girl and puberty has hit. She is developing. I see men in their 20's if not older.....checking her out. I want to scream "she's only 12y/o On a few occasions I have turned around and locked eyes with them sending a silent wtf are you doing?

She's still a little girl that plays with Barbie and dresses up her baby dolls.

Makes me wonder how these men can even think this ok in any realm?

Then why do they do that? She dresses appropriate for her age. She is in jr. sizes now.... but I don't let her wear crop tops, she doesn't wear make up outside of the house (unless special occasion). Half the stuff she wants to wear...I deem inappropriate and won't buy it. She looks her age. Like a 12 year old GIRL.

Just makes me angry.
