I have broken many cassette players back when they were the only way to listen to music on the go besides a radio. It didn't matter if they were in the car or handheld carry devices. I wonder if it's because the biochemistry is off inside me. Who knows.
I've also broken radio clocks, electronic clocks, and CD players just by using them. I'm not talking overuse either.
I've thankful for listening to the music I choose on my iPhone. I've not broken it yet and I've owned it for three years now. That's a record. Though I will say that I've noticed strange anomalies occurring with it: Things never reported as problems on Apple.
