I get migraines but they are not painful. I just see auras that can block my vision for up to an hour. I don't like talking about them because there is usually someone that gets the full blown migraine that keeps them on the couch for days at a time. I first started getting them when I was going through a separation prior to my divorce and it was an optometrist that diagnosed it. I went to see him because I thought there was something wrong with my eyesight.
Since I started having more sever PTSD symptoms they did get more frequent. In the months since I have learned to ground myself and calm myself I haven't had one, even through my surgery and all the stress from that.
I do get migraines but never really thought of them as being related to PTSD. I guess probably because they have been there since before I was diagnosed with PTSD. That makes sense that they could be related though...hmm, something new to think about.
For years I had migraines. I think it had to do with the amount of high drama and stress in my life. I was on vicodin. If if was really bad I would have to go to the hospital to get a shot so I would sleep it off.
Now for the past few years, I have been migraine free. Rarely I get a headache and a couple of tylenol do the trick. I also make ice packs and put them on my head like a helmet and it makes the muscles in my head numb and the headache goes away.
I must have a cast iron stomach for all of the different medications I was using.
I do not have high drama or stresses in my life like I used to.
