I actually slept through some this 4th of July. I remember hearing them in my sleep. I dreamed about them a bit, but did not try to wake myself up or anything. I guess I am bored by them.
I heard on the radio that a lot of PTSD folks posted signs outside near their residences requesting that others be respectful and conscientious concerning their use nearby. I was glad that so much consciousness was raised for those who get triggered or stressed by them.
The town I live in has a professional display of them every year on the 4th of July around 9PM. I can see them out of my window. I was kind of looking forward to seeing them as usual this year, but I was not particularly disappointed that we didn't have them this year. We've had too much rain this month, so the place where they normally blow them off was kind of flooded. They will announce in the paper when the "rain date" will be. They might hold them over until Labor Day or something.
