As a supporter, there are frequently times that I am glad my boyfriend bows out of things. Something like my birthday would totally be one. That means a social situation with people he would want to impress (my family and close friends). That means he has the stress of having the charm turned on, in probably a crowded place, with people he is not accustomed to socializing with....aka his personal hell. Knowing that he is dying inside....I will probably try to keep it short and keep on eye on his mannerisms and maybe don't have all the fun I would normally have if he weren't there. If he could exist there and be fine....of course I want him there. But if I am not in a "don't give a FF about him" kind of mood....his stress will be on my mind and I won't be able to relax and enjoy myself as much because I know he is all stressed out because of something IIIII wanted to do.
