Relationship Emotionally Shutting Down

Geez, that is a somewhat universal trait. You don't need PTSD to be able to play the silent treatment. I know you say you have left the relationship, but methinks you are trying to dissect it right down to the minutiae, and if that is the case, you are going to drive yourself crazy. Pretty much every bad trait in the world can be attributed to non PTSD individuals as well as PTSD individuals. Cut yourself a little slack. She wasn't the right one. Onwards and upwards, with time.

Perhaps you're right, meadowsweet. I mentally fixate on things that are very stressful for me, like breakups. I get hung up and over think things sometimes. However, when it comes to small things, such as little fights, I do try to let things go. At least I think I do. Lol. Perhaps I'm wrong.[DOUBLEPOST=1405017068,1405016863][/DOUBLEPOST]I didn't realize that maybe I just was doing everything on my time schedule. If she was mad, I wanted to end the fight at all costs on MY time frame, rather than on whenever she calmed down. Maybe I didn't let her have her own emotions on her own time frame.

Anyway, thanks for all the answers. Much appreciated.
