Fighting Weight Loss

@SheilaKathy. Diabetes risk with Geodon is considered to be low by the psych industry but the FDA disagrees and insists that patients be made aware of the risk. You could go to fda.gov for the complete report. I was switched to it for this very reason but I haven't been able to lose any of the weight I gained and my doctor checks my blood sugar regularly.

@Chava. I haven't tried freezing stews or soups. I just don't ever feel like eating and if you have frozen food, you can't be lazy like me because I don't think ahead to thaw it. Also, no matter what I've tried frozen such as meatballs or fish, as soon as a month is up I throw them out. I can't eat salads that have fruit in them it turns my stomach to combine veggies and fruit. I have germaphobia so I never eat from salad bars or kiosks. Even at Panera I have to disinfect the table before I eat. I even wash my canned food with soap and water before I open them. I am very quirky.
At my condo I've been taking my trash to the dumpster at my office because I don't want to touch the communal trash cans. The woman upstairs thinks I'm really weird, but she has cats and that barrel smells like fragranced cat litter.

@KwanYingirl I have to plan ahead a bit sometimes (hard for me, try to cook some on a day off), so I don't just eat cereal for every meal. Thawing is easier for lazy people than cooking. But I've also thrown lots of stuff I forget about in my freezer. If I can't see stuff, it doesn't exist. Some object permanence or organizational failure. But I'm surprised some of my quirks have subsided (seemed so ingrained because I've had them since childhood). I even ate a sandwich at a regular fast food place and my sister was like "WOW, what the hell happened to you?! GOOD JOB!!!" like she was witnessing me giving birth or something really amazing. It tasted like acid and i'll never do that again, but at the time I was hungry (good enough to know that much) and able to let go of a load of food boundaries.

@SheilaKathy. I was switched to it for this very reason but I haven't been able to lose any of the weight I gained and my doctor checks my blood sugar regularly.

I lose the weight by eating 1300 calories per day and exercising at least twice per week for half an hour. I have gone from 187 to 157 by this method. I bought a calorie counter book by an author with the last name of Nolan and her partner on Amazon.com to help me with this. It is not easy, but the program I am doing works. Also it is said in the program instructions that when you want to maintain the weight you have reached, you can go up to 1400 calories per day. I also do not eat any table sugar. I will eat small amounts of food that have tiny amounts of it in them, such as sugar being within the 2% or less distinction at the end of the ingredients list.

A friend of mine takes cinnamon and honey for her Diabetes, but I don't know the amounts and source of this info, although I have heard it from other folks too. She says it works. Her blood sugar is fine. I will see if I can find the info, and I will edit this note and add it to it.

This page has a photo and small blurb about it: https://www.facebook.com/Journey2HealthyLiving?fref=photo
but you will have to scroll down to find it. The photo is predominately blue in color. It lists a bunch of other things that it helps with as well, so you have to read it way don't to the bottom. (Just the photo, not the whole page).

i have struggled with my weight for years , i can drop kilos just by thinking about it. I find my appetite is so haphazard that at times i barely eat - of course stress is the big driver and it gets worse as the weight drops.

I can relate to that, often though my stomach gets upset simply because I haven't eaten enough. It gets upset and it really feels like it wouldn't be able to handle any food, but then when I do eat that bite, I do feel better. The snacking all day sounds familiar although I have found that if I snack like that all day I'm actually ingesting very little and keeping my own hunger at bay...

even a small amount of ice cream or something encourages my apetite to kick in

True that, I read somewhere on a weight gain site that you can jumpstart your apetite by eating foods that taste acid, like grapefruits. I tried it this week and actually it works (I buy red grapefruit).

@Chava I think you did a pretty good job eating that sandwich too! Even if it tasted like it did. I think maybe making your own yummy sandwich could bring you a better experience :D

Oh and I bought a blender this week. I just tried it. Made a smoothie with one banana, one avocado, frozen strawberries, two table spoons of peanut butter, yoghurt and milk. I know the combination my sound weird but it was actually quite delicious and took away my drained feeling. I think I will having a bunch of cups of these a day.

My eating has been crap this week. Also last week.

Everyone in my immediate family is overweight. I'm staying there at present (until after the holidays). I am learning I cannot leave food sitting around uneaten. If I make a sandwich and only eat 1/3? The rest is gone when I come back to it a few hours later. Doesn't matter where I put it. WTF? That was mine. Ditto, if I buy special food -I have allergies- it's gone as well. Before the identical cheaper version I'm allergic to. Gah! ... None of which has been helping my not-eating thing. If I hear one more time "We were just saving you from yourself" as the excuse for eating my food I may say something I regret. They simply do not / cannot grok I have the opposite problem with food that they do.

I've eaten 3 times in the past 7 days that I can remember. Maybe 4. Once just now (granola style bar), a Vegan nutrition shake, and about half a steak.

I'm upping my exercise, which means it's really really vital I start replacing lost energy if I don't want brittle bones and damaged vision, again. Just telling on myself / trying to remind myself to do the chew & swallow thing. Or just swallow. Sigh. Going back online to order more vegan shakes. Need a better hiding place for them. They're not gross, or anything, but it's not like they're wowza. Why would anyone drink them who's not vegan or allergic to dairy I haven't the faintest.

FridayJones...i dont have people pinching my food,,,unless of course they want bachelorfied toasted sandwiches. I have an appetite that takes leave on an almost daily basis ..i eat whatever i can , but to keep my energy up , i just drink a boost each day , this gives me at least the basic protein for survival

Doesn't matter where I put it. WTF? That was mine.

Uhm, I think "what the f*ck" describes the scenario quite well. I guess the only option is to put you food where they can't see it if they're not willing to understand not everyone is like them... I hope the vegan shakes are good for you. Maybe you can make them yourself so that they taste better?

I'm on the second week of easy food like white rice and bananas and apple sauce. Apparently I caught some kind of bug that makes me feel like throwing up constantly except I can't throw up. It's pissing me off . Have lost some weight because of that and my stubborn reluctance to see a doc, since the doc I have rarely says everything useful. I guess I'll have to go get checked anyway.
