I’ve actually found two different English language dictionaries that really don’t have the word gullible in it. One was physical and I took photos of it to prove and the other is an online dictionary. I even have the link!

I learned some fascinating stuff about Japanese Shinto culture today. The first is that those massive gates called torii are perches for the phoenix-like birds called ho-ō ‍ when they visit earth. And the second is that the wooden Shinto shrines are completely dismantled and rebuilt every 20 years. The wood from the dismantled shrine is turned into talismans.

The Rosetta Stone, that great dictionary of Egyptian hieroglyphs, was discovered by Napoleon’s soldiers when they invaded Egypt in 1798. They were taking refuge in a ruined fort from the 1400s, and were rebuilding it and in the foundational fill found the stone.

That’s probably why all the ads for the swanky new ones advertise for dog hair specifically… wether or not they’re the Real one to defeat the dog hair is another story I guess
