2 things happened

I saw how I was still connected to trauma and detatched from it

Started listening to audio books and helped me be aware of things I didn't realize

You're talking about avoidance.

Avoidance only works so long and then....

When I avoid, the emotions ALWAYS find a way to be expressed. I think this is what's happening with you.

Master Z

first I want to applaud you for your progress and your acknowledgement of detaching, which I truly think is a form of progress but very underrated under our cartesian medicine.

I think having great anxiety or deep depression after some experiences are normal because it could mean that you are in un-chartered territory - in other words, you have no idea what or where you are for the first time.
Sometimes it can also mean at least from my personal experience you are at junction to have a breakthrough so do not fight it just let it be.

If not, it could be as others pointed, it could be you are struggling with overwhelming stress in therapy.

Anyhow, your situation will show itself in due time. be patient.

Hi,
It is your ex that has PTSD? I think it depends on the type of trauma you are talking about and the response you had to it. For example 2 people can fall off a roof and the one sprained his ankle and the other breaks his arm. What is happening in the body is different and what needs to be done to address them is different. Do you want to say more about your situation?

Anxiety can be caused by many things. It can be caused by the trauma response in PTSD but it can also be caused from patterns in thoughts and behaviours and even aggravated by lifestyle stuff. An example? If someone isnt able to be assertive then there will be backlash internally emotionally as a result which can result in anxiety. If you discuss your situations more specifically it might be easier to answer for you.

Do you mean your anxiety has increased about this or has it remained and not left?

My story is confusing.

I have trauma from my ex who has a mental illness. What connected me to her realized wouldn't change anything about her

Hi master z. Was it emotional stuff with her? Or threats etc? Do you want to say the nature of what you were exposed to with her? It can affect the question you asked here.

She has borderline. So a lot of things felt like I saw a ghost and didn't understand. I wanted to see someone sick get help.

Once I saw how treatment centers and in patient wouldn't have made the changes that they advertise or show in movies I knew nothing would have changed the situation and I moved on
