I think 3.....?

Childhood nickname......to another variant of my real name......to a shortened version of my real name......now I'm at my real name! I get persnickety if people use anything but the name on my birth certificate. Hate my childhood name (it had a million ways to be made fun of) and don't want to be known as that anymore. I never introduce myself using that name. It still feels weird having people use my real name, even though I've used it consistently for a number of years now.

Yep, in the process of changing it again. (Or rather, getting used to the changes.)

Socially with people I trust? I'm back to fairly close to nom de guerre, because I figured there's so much I learned about hopefulness & faith in humanity I'm not tossing it away like past. Goes with going back to people I know I can trust, I have you, you have me, death can't do us part.

My work names alternate, and I've grown comfortable separating employments like that. Different worlds, categories making sense.

I am just in the midst of changing my nickname (this will be 3rd time). I didn't realize I was going to do this until a few weeks before I moved. Like a personality change. People are going to think I am crazy again. For the 17th time this week. I am tired of being seen as crazy - however, I am in a mood today. So whatever....

I voted yes, as when I was divorced from my ex-husband, I reverted back to my maiden name. I don't know if that counts or not, but I thought it did, since I sure as heck would not have wanted to keep the last name of Robkoff if I could help it!

I wanted to change my birth name Katherine to a new one because it hurt to hear my name. My husband called my name for me and It is now Autumn and i use it on my banking and drivers liscense as well. It hurt me to much to hear my birth name. Yet there are times when i use the name Katherine for legal purposes. I hate it but I have no desire to change my name legally.

No, everyone around me calls me Autumn now and I love it so much.

I legally changed my name after I started to remember the abuse and I had distanced myself from my FOO.

My father was a source of abuse (both witnessed and directly experienced) and he was in and out of jail. Hardly apart of my life, but only three/four years ago I had enough and stopped associating with that side of the family all together. I was also starting my art career and used my "pen name" as my known name. There is hardly anyone who knows my namesake and it has been a huge relief to not be called by it.
