But 30 years? Is that what a woman's life is worth? It's almost like a slap in the face.

If it helps at all that's actually a very serious sentence. It's a lot more common to find 10 years, out in 4, or 20 years out in 8-12. 30 years with no possibility of parole means they took what he did very seriously AND thew the book at him.

@TexCat Thank you so much for this clarification (of course, I still haven't had the courage to look it up!), thank you thank you. While I still have trouble with the "30" (I think 130 would've made more sense to me), my mind is eased somewhat. And LOVELovelove right back at ya'

I'm sorry that you do not feel this piece of crap got a harsh enough sentence. 30 years is a long time to think about your actions and he did plead guilty so he has taken responsibility for his crime I hope he feels remorse also.
There is nothing that will make you feel better for the loss of your dear friend nothing can make this go away what he did. My hope is that you can put this part behind you and cherish the memories you have of the good times with your friend that you thought so much of had in the time you Knew each other.

@ShikibuZ Don’t know how I missed this thread.... My condolences, and I’m so sorry that this has happened. Just because there is a jail sentence doesn’t mean there is closure. That will come in time... :hug::hug:
