Ugh...what a day. At 4am L. got up for a drink of water, a few minutes later he had a broken leg. He suffered the beginning of an aortic aneurysm causing him to black out fall, and obtain the injury. He had to call 911 for help, as we don't live together and he didn't tell me he was hurt until he got home. :banghead:

I'm already seeing a therapist to manage my anxiety, but this really put me over the top this morning. I'm going over to check on him and take him food in a minute. Thank GOD he's open to help right now. He really could have died. I have rarely cried over his physical issues but I did this morning.

I just needed to vent. This was a big deal today. He's going to need more help than he's used to receiving for the next few months. I'm just praying he doesn't resist it, or at least his mom will be able to help us.

Oh man... injured vet with PTSD. Have fun with that! I'd buy you a big ole drink if I was close hon....
Thanks for understanding. I know, right? He just keeps cussing at himself. Maybe the drugs they gave him made him more docile, but tonight he responded well to ice cream. He did let me cook for him, too, but he made sure he showed me how he could get around in the kitchen all by himself. Bless his heart... This is gonna be fun.

He's really lucky you're there @Pippi427 .

Just to add, heart issues can make people act out of character, as can the associated meds.

Maybe the broken leg will be a blessing in disguise/ force him to be less physical?

Take care of yourself, as 2 sick or laid-up people instead of one won't help the situation! Hugs and wishes for healing quickly and peaceful recovery.

Ugh, I got off kilter yesterday and forgot to take my epilepsy meds. I didn't have a seizure, but I sure felt awful at the end of the day. It is SO IMPORTANT to remember to take care of oneself! I felt so bad, I couldn't go to roller derby practice. I cheated myself. Today I will walk myself back in to the gym...get right back on the self care horse. L's mom is flying down this weekend, so relief is in sight.
