The title says how it has been for the last week or so, up and down like a yo yo.

Today was typical.

Hubby got up this morning bright and breezy, determined to go out to the chemist and the supermarket on his own. By the time he got back he was verging on a crash.

He had lunch and went straight to bed, After a few hours he felt better, but still not right, so had a bath with essential oils in. This helped and he seemed more like himself again.

Tea time arrives and he is beginning to crash again, maybe he was hungry and needed to eat, so tea was on the table quick. He did pick up after eating, so maybe it was hunger that had put him down again.

3 hours later and he is back down and on his way to bed.

One thing that he has not done today is snap at me, that's because yesterday he was warned if he did it again, he would have to deal with it all himself, with no support from me. He never snapped at me pre PTSD, so he is not allowed to do it now.

I love it too. I try to look at the Dude's PTSD as something that explains his feelings, such as those of worthlessness, or his depression. It will never explain plain rude behaviour. Sure, the outbursts probably come a little more easily since he was in the Marines, but that doesn't mean I have to accept them. So we work on it together, me by saying "I am not accepting this crap", and him by rethinking his actions. It's a slow process, but it seems to be working :) Amethist, you always make me smile.

Just a thought, Amethist, has he been checked out for other things like diabetes or thyroid dysfunction? These things can also cause or add to what you are seeing.

He has had numerous tests nursenurse, all came back clear. Apart from the PTSD he is healthier than me.

He does have a lot on his mind at the moment, which I know is not helping at all.

Just hope his psychiatric nurse can come up with some answers on Friday.

For what it's worth, my husband seems to go through these stages where he seems to need to go to bed and sleep quite a lot. It can be difficult.

Its still hour by hour and day by day, but he is coping with it all better, excepting that this is how it is at the moment, and staying off the booze too. Which is a good thing now he can see what it does to him.
