How To Stuff A Cat Into A Carrier

My one cat absolutely hated the carrier when she needed to go in (the rascal slept in it when it was...
That's what my husband suggested when I told him of today's adventures. Turning the carrier so the door is facing up, and lowering him in. Somehow, some way, we'll get him to the vet next week.

The cat up a tree was abandoned, the cat in the car was feral and l was trying to get it to rescue shelter but the fireman adopted him. But my cats were indoors to. It was a tux cat in heating vent, can of tuna worked. Hope to get a cat in my new home, looks like my divorce suddenly got runner legs.

It's amazing the predicaments cats can get themselves into. Glad you took the time to help the abandoned and feral cats. My husband and I volunteer for a cat rescue. It is so satisfying to see a cat who comes from "less than ideal" circumstances blossom into a loving, playful, happy creature and then go on to be adopted by someone who will take care of it for life.

@corvidae I can see it now. We walk into the vet with a bulging, writhing, howling pillow case, and announce cheerfully, "We made it!" And then the pillowcase rips open and the cat gets out and goes into warp-speed and tears around the waiting room putting holes in the couches (Our vet has a very posh waiting room). But maybe putting him in the case just to get him into the carrier... might be easier than trying to wrap him in a towel.

Okay. I have a standard sized carrier. And a 23 pound cat. Said cat needs to be inside the carr...
Well, I used to have 3 cats and each and everyone behaved that way. I placed the carrier in a way so that the opening is on top. The carrier needs to be propped against something sturdy. Okay, then with the opening on top the cat really does not have much of a chance. You hold the cat under the front legs and guide the hind legs into the carrier first, then gravity will set in as you lower the rest of the animals body in there. It confused all of my cats and I got all of them into the carrier with that trick. They were so confused that the opening was above them and so perplexed that they could not fight gravity, so I always did it that way.

Lol, Eve.

Actually vets will give you tranquilizers to give cats to get them there. We haven't resorted to that, but it's an idea. Two of our guys have to go for checkups soon and they cry the whole time in the car, and our vet is 17 miles away. Maybe it would be best to give them something cause they seem so miserable.
