Hyper vigilance for life ??

I wish I knew what it was like to totally relax. I've never been able to. I wake often in the night. I sleep light as hell. I have 3 fans on high in the bedroom for white noise. Unless I'm completely exhausted...I will hear a noise and think I need to go see if someone is trying to break into the house. It's frickin miserable always being on alert and looking around to survey the situation.
I also sleep with a fan and have to sleep with noise canceling headphones. I do have a German shepherd that alerts me to noises, which I think adds to my hyper vigilance sometimes. I hear you!!! I do the same. I am exhausted all the time. I have a doctors appt this week and I’m afraid she will want to put me on meds. I hate taking medication.

The only thing I'm on is anti-anxiety meds. I can't take most of the medications they put me on. I have a lot of adverse reactions to things. I just walk around feeling exhausted and feeling like I'm jacked up on coffee at the same time all the time. LOL!

I tried lexapro and it gave me awful nightmares and made me so numb. I had to stop taking it. I also have a lot of adverse reactions. I can’t even take most antibiotics. My body just doesn’t like medication.

The Drs always look at my page and a half of crap I can't take and the first thing they say is "Really?" I usually look up the meds and side effects and then I never take the full dose first day. I made the mistake of trying to take the full dose of Metformin and man did I pay for that. LOL! It's a diabetes drug. Too much and it's shartsville on steroids. LOL!

I don't think there's a single antidepressant they've tried me on that I could take. You could always try it. I just usually cut one pill in half and take half til I see what's what. Mostly cuz I don't trust Drs much anymore.
