I Have To Quit My Job

So in the last few days I've gone through a lot. I've been in a psychiatric intervention center and then for the next two weeks I have to do partial hospitalization. I work evenings but I was prescribed Zoloft and sleeping pills. They both made me incredibly too tired and then getting home late from work and having to wake up mornings is horrible.

I really don't want to quit but I'm not in a good place right now. Has anyone else gone through this ? What do you think you would do in this situation?

Can you take disability leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act?

I'd just tack onto to what joeylittle noted and ask if you have STD or LTD to support you financially during this time. I faced this and had to keep working. I hope you're in a better situation. Best to you. VB

Health comes first, you have been through a lot just recently and you could risk making yourself worse by forcing yourself into work when your instincts are telling you something is wrong. You know yourself better than anyone. You said you don't want to quit so I am guessing that normally you enjoy your job? Perhaps taking sick leave until you are better will take the pressure off and that way you won't have to actually quit and can return to work when you are better. Obviously it would depend on the support available to you if you were to do that. Good luck and be kind to yourself. The best advice a therapist gave me was, "You don't have to do anything that you don't want to do". Simple but it felt so calming and nice to hear that. Follow your instincts and put your health first ;)

I disagree. I say this because I've been on both sides. I've walked away from 2 jobs. Finance comes first unless it's absolutely devastating. Again, Angel Bby, only you know what's at stake and what your resources are. Weigh it all out and stand firm in your decision. VB
