If You Believe In Religion And Christmas

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa

And it is a shared holiday.. legitimately. Although Ramadan is probably not a big seller in December since it happens in the summer.

And at Loews there are likely a bazillion things that say Merry Christmas.

This is a statement of someone who only wants freedom for their own religion.

Ever since I read this it's been on my mind. When people wish me a Merry Christmas now I wonder what they mean.

I believe in God,and more than likely Jesus. We are all children of God, and someone needed to come to earth and teach humans how to be human. Why? Man has proven themselves throughout the ages to be flawed and foolish, it is also this same flawed and foolish man who created religion. And when one man didn't agree with the other, they created another, and another, and so on.

The most concrete thing about religion is that it is mostly based on disagreements on how man should live their lives. Man has for generations killed each other in the name of God. If god is love, and his love our life, then how is it possible for man to disagree with this premise? Who else was able to figure out that killing or torturing another human being was wrong? Moses received this directive and Jesus confirmed it.

Have you ever considered the miracle of life from a cell to a human? Or truly wraped your ahead around the concept of the
infinity of outer space?

With season of Christmas among us, which was Started in England and entwined in American culture, it is the celebration of Christ's birth. I don't celebrate chaunakah, Rhamadam, or the winter solstice, but I don't appose it. A basic human decency is to respect that all men are different but have basic God-Given rights. So don't appose Christmas is an effort to further some other non-related agenda.

God is what is right about our lives, but religion is man's way of controlling something that it can't.

I believe in God, not religion. Because God is the only reason I am alive today.

Well it's just not very christmasy to be shouted a Merry Christmas because of some kind of agenda. That's not very goodwillish toward menish at all.

I never said that I shouted "Merry Christmas" at people. I simply make it clear when I say it. Most retail establishments don't allow their employees to say it anymore because it has the name Christ in it. I agree with markymark, that there are many 'religions' in the world because of human disagreement. I live and breathe because Christ died for me and I will live according to the word of God. Indeed, Christ came to teach us and all that He did is written down in the bible. This is why I read it and study it.

No, you didn't say it. Nor did anyone else. It was just in that original essay to shout Merry Christmas at people. I just disagree with that. Christmas is many things to many people, but most of us celebrate it.

I don't think, no matter what people believe, that Christmas is the time to argue. A lot of people don't celebrate it, but its still the season of giving. No matter what you believe.

This is getting a bit offensive, IMHO.

Well I'll rest my point.. which is just that Christmas belongs to all of us and it's a cultural celebration. No one is excluded and everyone is free to celebrate in the way they like. Including all of you.
