Whether or not someone chooses to work a job has no bearing on PTSD. It doesn't make it a "better" kind of PTSD, or not PTSD. That's like saying "Well you chose to marry him" to DV survivors, or "You chose to live in a flood plain" to Katrina victims, or "You chose to wear that dress" to a rape victim, or "You chose to enlist," to a soldier, or "You chose to get behind the wheel," to an accident survivor. Yep. All that may be true, but it's nonsense. It's nothing but victim blaming bullshit.

As far as why someone chose to work that job, wear that dress, get in their car, buy that house? Beyond irrelevant

Regardless of how one gets PTSD? Whether it was something you did, something you didn't do, or something that was done to you... We all have PTSD. Everyone here is attempting to survive that disorder. Whether you sympathize with how someone got it or not, it's still PTSD.

Then why return to the job? I can't say anymore. I will unfollow this thread and won't see further alerts. Still no sympathy from me. Their reputation precedes them.

Edit: all I care about is that another potential threat is removed.
