Hi Everyone!
I've already met a few of you in chat. Seems like a fine group.
I'm a math teacher working on a graduate degree in mathematics. While not working on math stuff, I like to walk, bike, read, and watch science documentaries.
I'm an introvert and fairly reclusive at times.
I suffer from both PTSD and DID. My initial traumas were when I was very young, during my preverbal years, so my memories are not truly accessible. This means I mostly suffer from affective flashbacks (emotional flashbacks that don't have visual or auditory components).
Today, for instance, I am locked in my Safe Room because I am afraid to go out into the rest of my apartment, lest there be a 'monster' out there waiting for me. The 'monster' is obviously a screen for my childhood perpetrator, but that's about as far as I can get at this point.
