(((Nicholette))) The doc's right about pain control... regular dosing, because it takes more to control the pain when you let it wear off. I'm sending you warm fuzzy and pink thoughts, and hoping you feel better really soon. Pain sucks, I've had plenty... didn't like the pain meds either, but I needed them for a time. Just hold on to the thought that what you're going through is not gonna be "forever"... I can do anything for a finite time. Hang tough and take it easy okay? Liked Sea's suggestion.

Another thing I found was an ab pillow/ pressure on the abdomen helped me a lot. I used Medical tape and made a small rectangular pillow and put it inside a pillow case... I could hold it against my stomach and the pressure took some of the worst pain away. (I had a 7 inch incision area).

Thanks The Albatross. I am currently using a heat bag on my kidney today as the worst was yesterday. It has been a cyclic thing for the past 4 years getting worse. Finally they are doing something.

You are right... I have to make sure I have my basic pain medication every 4 hours.

Hi Nicolette... Just mentionned in another thread that I was glad to see you back more often and then I saw this post. So sorry that you are still in pain. Anyways, you seem to have a great deal of advice for fellow members, I'm just here to say that I'm linking arms with you and that you are the reason why I have to light a candle today ...

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this pain. The chronic thing-awful. If the medical 'they's' could get it together to get the nerve endings to stop screaming at each other for you periodically, even, it breaks the cycle, I know- gives some time off. Gosh yes, how to find it. Others here have an awful lot of knowledge with this, I do hope something may have helped.

Two weeks must seem like an awfully long time. You're handling it so gracefully, couldn't help but notice your mood indicator set at 'loved' in the middle of all this. I just wished to add my pink and purple butterfly to others at least in words, and am thinking of you-sending healing thoughts to add to Froggie's candle. I'd add a hug but suspect that would be ouchy so will save those for when you're feeling better! :)

x's only. :)

First, and most importantly, I am so very sorry to hear you still have pain. I really hope you have resolution soon.

I am always amazed when I talk with friends in other countries about medical things. They say they are on a medicine and many times I have to go look it up. It is just so different. I sometimes am assigned to Triage in the ER, and triage in medics as they come in in the ER itself. We do a quick medication history. I am almost certain I have never had someone on morphine on a regular basis except a few cancer patients. We just have other things that are used. Same with the nausea medications discussed here. LOL, I'm rambling again.

Sending positive thoughts from the States for pain relief!

I am SO sorry that you are dealing with chronic pain right now. I have been through so many difficult things in my life, but chronic pain psychologically or physically is the worst thing of all!!! Hang in there, Nicolette. I sure hope it gets better soon!!

((((((((((Nicolette)))))))))))

So sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. Deep breathing exercises through the pain often helps, otherwise I have nothing to add to what has already been said except to send you love and hugs. x

If you are in so much pain Nicolette, phone them if you can.

There must be something they can do, from trying something else, to bringing the surgery forward. If you dont tell them, they can't help you.

Sending warming healing thoughts and extra strong energy.
