I’ve been waiting to make this post for sooo long. I’m walking on sunshine today. The past few months have been the happiest, calmest, most magical days of my life, and today just feels so good. I’ve been handing out donuts and smiles all day long.

@Ronin Honest to god I couldn’t have done it without you along with all of the denizens of MyPTSD who make this community so special and life-saving.

I came to this resource almost exactly 8 years ago, at the end of my second-to-last semester of my Bachelor’s degree. I was told by multiple mental health professionals that I would not survive that last semester and urged to go into one of the two I guess(?) top specialized inpatient programs in the US instead.

Having this resource meant that I was able to safely ignore that advice and finish my degree at the end of 2011, bolstered by the support here and having grown so much because of this space.

Now, a little over 7 years later, I have my graduate degree and a very strong in-person support network I never had before. I know for a fact that I was able to build the life I have and foster the incredible relationships I’m privileged to have formed because people like you in this community believed in me and heard me in ways I hadn’t previously felt.

I owe this place so much. Thank you for being a part of the mosaic of people who have helped me believe in and love myself. <3

I’ve aimed this response at you, but there are dozens of others here to whom I am also writing. Thank god for you all.
