Physical Therapy exercises, I do 6 of them each morning, first thing. I also climbed the stairs twice, once to visit a neighbor who is recovering from pneumonia and once to go get her mail for her. I also walked all around in a store for quite some time, looking for some gifts for her, since she just moved into our building. She is not one to accept charity, so I hope she is willing to accept a house warming gift!

I went swimming in the sea on Tuesday, in a tiny cove at the extreme end of a long and popular beach. Had the the cove to myself. I had weird feelings, which I think were moments of contentment. Usually I don't feel anything emotionally but do these things because I know they are good for me. So having uplifting emotions is a rare experience.

I swam at a secret cove on Saturday. Was the only person there. The waves were quite big and I was nervous about getting in. But once I got in it was ok. I tried body surfing the waves, without much success. My feet didn't ache getting in so the water temperature must be increasing. Still shivered for an hour after. Sunbathed after, alone on the beach.

Sunday took my 16 year old son surfing. Not great to start but the surf improved as the tide came in. After two hours my arms gave up so I came in and swam in the shore break. My son continued to catch waves, on my board! I think he's surpassed his dad now. He surfs with a grace that is alien to me. Watching him pushes the depressive dark emotions back.

Today: 30 min Yoga (with only two hours sleep...)

This year I might buy a wetsuit and swim in the lake. There's ecoli and my city posts the reasons daily to determine if swimming is too risky. The thing is the reading are all from the day before. I can't quite figure out how that helps...

I would imagine a wetsuit won't really protect ones eyes, ears or thin membranes... hmmm I am rethinking.

In the meantime, I have been running (mostly short runs of 10k or so) until the last couple of days when it's been too hot. I was thinking about a triathlon and then reading of people's experiences swimming in the sea sound so amazing that I am wanting to get back into some swimming.

Also doing lots of weight lifting and will be getting more mileage on my bike shortly when I can ride to work.
I have been taking Hank out later at night for some evening hikes when it's cooler. He enjoys them and I think he is truly a night owl at heart lol.

More later!

Weight training today: Chest flyes, Trapezius Barbell Shrugs, and Reverse Dumbbell Curls. Been on a very high protein/low carb diet for a while now. Trimming up pretty good.
