I'm new here and would really appreciate some feedback if anyone has the time.
About 5 yrs ago I had what would seem to be my first and last flashback. I was sitting in education seminar at a hospital (I'm a nurse) and one of the instructors said "it looks like it's incision time" and I immediately at the sound of those words got tunnel vision and felt like I was going to pass out. I may have even grabbed onto the table, then as quickly as it started it stopped and I sort wooshed back into myself. I looked around to see if anyone had noticed but the instructor was still talking and no one was looking at me.
I have no idea why this happened and it hasn't happened since. I assumed at the time it may have been what a doctor said before a surgery I had when I was 11 and left it at that. However I also had multiple surgeries as a baby and now I'm curious to know if I had been aware the whole time or if this was just that I was aware as I went under?
Anyways. I have depression and generalized anxiety etc.
I'm curious why this happened out of nowhere and why it hasn't happened again? Any ideas?
