J's caretaker
New Here
J's PTSD has gotten worse through the years and we are learning together how to mange coping skills and make his life as 'normal' as possible. We both have good and bad days and we work to try to be honest with each other so that problems get dealt with as soon as possible.
I wanted to be on this site as I feel I need to know there are others out there that are doing the best that the can. At many times I think 'Secondary PTSD" applies to me. We are retired now and I take J out every afternoon for 'tea' so that he stays used to being in public. He doesn't drive anymore and he is only comfortable at 3 restaurants in the area but at least he is getting out daily.
I enjoying going out too as I read my newest book or play on my Kindle. For the most part, I think we have made some good adjustments to make a good life for J.
