Hi Clydie.
You will find his articles by googling the 'hypoglycemia association of australia'. There if you feel inclined, you can take a couple of free hypoglycemia tests and see what your score comes out to be. Not everyone has hypoglycemia (although it is highly prevalent). According to Plesman, it could be another biochemical imbalance.
I just remembered, that there was another thing that influenced me greatly. During the same time that I was reading Plesman's articles, I was also frequenting a natural herbs forum. One section was for menopause. I was reading these posts by several different women saying that since the change, and their hormones going all array, they were experiencing feelings of excess irritability and anger.. Some described themselves as former people pleasers and all of a sudden today, they are like brazen women! Even more interesting to me, they reported that for the 1st time in their life ,they seemed to be going through emotions of anger, grief, even fear about things that had happened to them in their childhood, and in the past. I was competely fascinated with this since they were completely fine and ok before the change. In summary, these women were able to decrease their symptoms with taking various menopausal herbs .
So, this just seemed to connect so well to what Dr. Plesman was saying in how we have a biological personality, and this affects our psychological. And it is also, vice versa. Aside from hormones and hypoglycemia, there could be various other biochemical imbalances or metabolic disorders going on (these may have been subtly present before the ptsd, or occurred after). I was even talking to my psych about it yesterday, and he drew these circles on a piece of paper and they were all linked together.. He agreed with what I was explaining to him (not that I needed him to agree with me.. but his validation was very helpful.) So, going on, if you go to your MD and get tested to see if there is anything wrong with you, none of these things will come out in their tests. Mine didn't. I had 7 full blood and urine tests done in 3 years and I am 'normal'... nothing wrong with me. I go to the naturopath on the heels of reading Dr. Plesman's stuff, and and through his tests, it is discovered I do have a metabolic disorder.. and lots of other things (ie. my basal temperature is too low during the day, my PH is too alkaline..etc... Blah..)
If I get better, this will be the miracle..
Take care:smile: Tija
