Saw this and thought I'd pass it on...

Hi Adam,

Thank you for providing this link. I have been using my Newfie as a service dog for about six months now and it has made a huge difference in my ability to go places, elimination of nightmares, and just his calming effect when the anxiety seems like it is going to spiral out of control.

I cannot imagine being without him, he has made that much of a difference. There are occasional issues when I take him into business establishments for the first time. However, over time, he is very welcomed and he has an effect of brightening eveyone's day.

Funny thing is he did not start out as a service dog. I rescued him from the local humane society last March. It was when he started waking me up during nightmares, putting his head on me when I was stressed, and his absolute refusal to leave my side that I realized his potential. Training has been done by me with the oversight of a local trainer. He is to be certified by that trainer in January.

It is such a benefit and not always a huge expense. Just wanted to pass this along.

cool. Is there a way I can train my dog? He'd be perfect. He, as yours does, does many of the functions anyway. But It'd be nice if I could take him more places.
