Noisey Sex Neighbours Trigger Ptsd

So I'm moving out in a week thank god. But I am still really pissed off this morning because it's 11:45 and there I am relaxing and watching a little t.v. when spanking noises from the room next to mine where my 52 year old landlord is spanking his girlfriend. So, I have to stop enjoying my t.v. show, and turn it off to stick earplugs in and find something else to do.

Okay, this house has been bad for it as I also have extremely amorous neighbors and for some reason one of the thing girl who for some reason sounds like a toddler likes to do whilst having sex is to scream 'no' I don;t mean in any way that actually seems like she is refusing because she's laughing her head off and for some reason he's doing really weird animal impressions. Then, especially on weekends and a Sunday when I can't just go out to the library as I tend to do when this starts up I actually end up with both couples my landlord and my neighbors going at it at exactly the same time. So yes, I have sex noises coming from three foot to the left of me and two meters to the right of me and I get seriously pissed off. I actually feel like I want to scream at them.

So, I move in a week and I know that this is a good solution and I also know that the other house is bigger, better built, thicker walls, less people crowded in on top of one another but I really need some kind of a way of dealing with this if it does happen again because my ears are in soo much pain from wearing earplugs day in day out for the last six months and my noise cancelling headphones are not comfortable to sleep in.

Yes, I am more complaining than anything else but sex noises are a serious trigger for me and this is a very tightly spaced city.

You have a good reason to complain. I would too. And honestly, this is the kind of thing that you can actually complain about to your neighbors, but I can imagine it isn't an easy topic to discuss. I hope it doesn't happen to you again.

If it does, you might want to consider talking to them or writing them a note saying it bothers you. You have every right to. You live there too. If you start making a whole bunch of noise, they have the right to complain as well. On a side note: I wear earplugs everyday too, and they are wax ones that don't hurt as much.

Sorry, I know it's annoying, but your description of their antics made me laugh out loud. :D

It's like a classic movie. I had a housemate once who was always at it, with all different girls every single day. They both made heaps of noise and it was very annoying...mainly because I had no sex life to speak of. :D

But yes, I'd invest in some quality ear plugs if possible and maybe start turning the volume up louder when it starts up.

I have made complaints, this lot has just sworn at me whenever I've asked them to quieten down, My landlord is now singing Do Ri Me loudly in the kitchen and I can't talk to him about how bloody irritating I find him and how it drives me to tears because I just want peace and quiet. But yes, now i'm moving out I would hope to have neighbors that I could talk to without getting sworn at and because I won't have a live in landlord the whole can't complain because it's his house thing shouldn't be a problem any more.

That sounds like a scene from a bad movie! I'm glad you'll be able to get out of there soon. My first thought on ways to respond involves recording it and playing it back to them..... Maybe record it, turn the volume up as loud as possible, and play it back sometime where they're home and you're going out.

These people sound unbelievable! Glad to hear you can move.

i would loop the sound of orgasms and every time i went out i would put it on a loop, even go as far as singing do re mi amidst some groaning - he will soon get the message and if he dosent ..well at least you had fun trying to pay him back

I have considered it but that would get me into trouble. I reported them to the university but they were a bit usless. So i'm just keeping sane until I move out.

Just wanted to say that I can empathize with you, as I was in a very similar situation in my last apartment. I'm very happy for you that you are able to move out so soon; the situation where you are now sounds awful. I admire you for being able to talk to them about it, although I'm sorry for the reaction you received. I never talked to my neighbors about it -- I didn't think they would understand that it was a PTSD reaction and that it wasn't just me being intolerant for no reason.
