One Thing That Made You Smile Today?

CLEARLY from a place familiar with “Moose are evil motherf*ckers” …as both lines of traffic stopped. In a place with citiots & tourists? A car would have tried to drive through. And? Been FLIPPED. Deer/Antelope? One can “just” accelerate to flip them over your car (instead of tangling up in the undercarriage, which is a total at best, multiple fatality MVA at worst). Accelerating on a moose? Is a coin flip on survival. Creeping through during a line of moose? (Much less mama & baby) has the adults ramming -and flipping- your vehicle, and then pulverising any would be survivors. Land hippos, moose. As deadly dangerous as they are goofy looking.

You remind me of a funny story. Friend, driving a VW Rabbit (Golf) in fog thick enough he had the window down so he could see the solid line for the shoulder.

Keeps hearing a weird noise. Can't figure it out. Finally stops to check it out.....and the deer rolled off the hood...... He had been going slow enough it rolled up on the hood when he hit it...

Accelerating on a moose?
Moose and Elk you do not mess with. More people who dies in accidents with moose get kicked to death than crushed. Elk - you knock then down and piss them off, and then they attack.......

I guess that's two things really.......

my dog happily wagging his tail because i was laughing in his direction and not caring that i was really laughing at “his” kitten who was trying to ride on his tail. Dog weighs 150 lb easy, kitten is 3 months old and maybe a pound and a half when stuffed full of cat food but all sinew and attitude. Together they are a riot.

Unusually, the news made me so so so happy tonight. 😻
I am hoping that the new direction is at least a continuance of the former direction. I am hoping it might be a better, stronger direction. I am scared to death it might be worse because if it is it means we will likely return to the former former direction and the results will be so bad we will remember the horrors of the past as the good old days.
I think we are talking about the same bit of news. Yes it makes me smile, but it is the smile of hope tempered by the acceptance of the fear of the things unknown yet to come, the known unknown. Dig?
