Panic Attacks In Therapy

I tend to only get my panic attacks during group therapy or individual but i mostly get them during group. I have not had any panic attacks outside of therapy though. Im really wondering why? Im thinking of taking a break from therapy, because sometimes they are so bad they linger into the next day. Anybody else experience this?

I don't imagine that's uncommon. The fact that you are in therapy when you have the panic attacks probably creates the situation for the panic--you are discussing or hearing people discuss traumas, problems, etc. and can bring up memories and thoughts centered on those issues, whereas in a day to day setting those conversations probably don't come up very often.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I've had panic attacks in sessions with my T before, but I also have them outside of therapy. It sucks either way.

Yes actually. I go to a bible study where I get up walk around sit if I can and am fine. When I go to the depression anxiety group I have much more difficulty sitting but if I need to move around and not sit I tend to leave and listen from the hall. I also have more heart pounding episode at that group. It is content but also the people are less known to me. I'm more familiar to the bible study group.
