I get to where i cant cry because if i cry ill go into a panic attack and i get to where i cant breathe at all and i start shaking from lack of oxygen then i go unconcious !there was one time it happened because i was upset bout my grandparents passing away and i had lived all my life with them and i had the panic attack went unconcious and woke up in the back of an ambulance in my back yard apparently my mom called 911 and the first responders couldnt get me concious so wen the ambulance arrive they put me in the back and put oxygwn on me and i woke up and they said there was a chance they were taking me to the hospital to make sure i was ok but i had asthma for years before the panic attacks started and they started after my grandparents passed away so i try not to cry as much as possible so i wont go into one

I've had CPTSD for at last nine years. Been through at least six years of therapy/treatment. None of these therapies have worked in any way. So when people talk about 'grounding' etc. I'm fascinated to know what they are actually describing. Experienced all the 'talking therapies, all other suggested, including EMDR none of these treatments have shown any improvement in my condition, in fact, I could actually say that some have made it worse. Tried 'alternative' remedys, no point, so please whoever is out there, that says there is an effective treatment for C/PT and sill SD please tell us what it is. We've all worked hard at it, done what we were told to do and still frozen in this never ending nightmare. An incurable disease that only the Governments and optimists believe there's a 'cure' for.

@mary gartman, I use an app for anxiety called What's Up (though there are many anxiety apps) which has been tremdous help for me and I dont even use half of it. If you have a smart phone or a tablet, its awesome!

Apple (iPhone/iPad): Dead Link Removed

Android: What's Up? - Android Apps on Google Play

It helps with breathing, metaphors (the two that help me the most), thinking patterns and more and you can also get immediate help now, rate you anxiety to see spiking trends. Its just great and free!

I am also on medication so Id speak to your psychiatrist or GP about that as passing out is a real bad thing and there are very good ways to decrease it.

Look into DBT stuff. The distractions, distress tolerance, all of that helps anxiety too.

I hope this helps!
