I put Sequoia on the hood of my truck because she hasn't had all her parvo booster shots yet. Two more shots (about 5 weeks) till I can put her on the ground like a regular dog. She is about 3 1/2 months old in this pic.

I've taken her to a couple restaurants and lots of stores lately. She behaves extremely well. I haven't pushed her training very much because she is so young, but keep her with me so she is accustomed to always being with me, and the general public.

Today my wife got her new electric wheel chair. After spending most of the day and early evening taking care of business, I wanted to go for a ride around the neighborhood in it when we got home. While siting down in the chair I dropped something and bent over to get it. I bumped the controller and the chair moved dumping me on the ground in front of it. I scraped the crap out of my right leg and got hit in the right kidney area by the foot rest holder. I hurt so bad I continued to the ground and couldn't move for well over 5 min. Sequoia was on my lap before it happened and fell to the ground. She came back to me and sat/leaned to my chest while I lay there groaning on the street helpless recovering. Both my wife (who was there with me) and I were very impressed with her instincts.

We got this little fella today. He is a purebred Border Collie. A very intelligent animal.
His name is Murphy and he will eventually be trained as a service dog. Mainly he will be my companion when Margaret is not around.

Dogs are great. They have better instincts about helping people than most people will ever have. Truly, you can't have a better companion on the road of life.

Seventeen years this month. Every morning I turn on the bedside light to see if his head pops up. If he does, we're all good. One of these days it won't. But I'm in a helluva better shape to deal with it now and for that I'm grateful. To you guys, my therapist, P-Doc and real meds.

Here's a pic I took of mine. Keno at the river earlier today.
He's a handful.

Really want a dog. Soon this will be possible with a bigger gaf. The thing has to be able to run though, it's not cool to drag a dog.

Been waiting about 2 years

WTG Dan. Getting one from the pound, a rescued dog or a puppy?
I can recommend a foundation such as animalinneed.com
Whichever you go for, life with a dog is wonderful.
