Political Venting

Metadata for the information is not available as I understand it as well. The democrats are desperate to screw up the interims this year. Trump is not going to get away with ignoring this Epstein stuff. Not with the MAGA people. Doesn't matter what the distractions are, doesn't matter how much Pam Bondi attempts to bring the problem back to prior administrations. It is obvious at this point that these files are meant to cause a shit show.

The idea is that it will cause a complete dismantling of the system and that would be too much. I say, burn it to the ground. That said, my life has been burned to the ground for decades now, so I have nothing to lose. Most would be afraid of losing everything they have.

Morally though - I wouldn't be good knowing this is going on (and if Epstein is dead don't think it isn't still happening) with my knowing it is happening. The question is how many people care about this - and what does that say about this population if most don't?

The question is not, is this still going on. The question is; who is the fixer now.

I am not fore or against either, in fact I think the truth lay in the middle.
thats my view on most stuff going on here in the US, and it can take forever to find that truthful middle in the current climate of division.
I heard a pundit making fun of the disillusioned democrats after the last election and it was funny at the time but after a year of hand wringing and pearl clutching i am not laughing as hard these days.
the comedian said he was walking by a democrat's rally and heard the megaphoned leader shout “what do we want?” “thoughtful benevolent leadership willing to make changes but only after careful deliberation” “when do we want it?” “NOW!”

Why not? Biden got away with it. Trump will to, and the next President after him, because this will still be lingering around.

Yup. The media focused on a very small part of Epstein, the possibility of a few under age girls. But it seems the majority of things was laundering, deals, parties to the rich and influential, and access to other special and capable individuals through social functions which just happened to have young (primarily 18 - 22 year olds) male and females available for these people to enjoy themselves with. The minority which the media focus, the proclivities of a few of these powerful people, is barely scratching the surface.

They will not let anything useful come to light on this, otherwise it would burn down extremely powerful organisations and Governments. People should move on from it, because you won't get anything damning. You will get fluff and distraction, nothing more. Anyone who has worked for a Government with any type of secrecy attached, knows this is the truth.

You need to cut regulation to increase productivity, which decreases cost of living, BUT, you also need to do things in a way to not destroy the planet doing it.
Agree, and not just destroying the planet, also keeping people healthy. Regulatory cost savings should be weighed against the escalating long-term risks to not just marine, coastal, and terrestrial ecosystems but also agricultural industries, public health, infrastructure, insurance markets, food security, and regional economies that depend on a stable climate and functioning environmental systems.

That's exactly what the EPA's evaluation of the social cost of carbon was intended for. That is, until the concept was tossed by the current administration.

You'll commonly get state Public Utility Commissions having a laundry list of social cost of various pollutants that utilities must use to evaluate whether it's actually cheaper to build and operate e.g. this gas-fired plant than some alternative.

I don't like Trump's ICE shenanigans. They are too trigger happy. They need to take some lessons from local police about de-escalation and safety tactics so everyone comes out alive.

What’s “weird” is that in red states like Texas and Tennessee ICE is following the law and working with police, but in blue states like Minnesota and California they are breaking federal law by doing traffic stops, arresting without warrants, and racial profiling.

At least they're behaving somewhere.
