Political Venting

A year ago the most powerful man in the world and the richest man in the world were busy taking aid money away from the most vulnerable and in need people in the world. Many were children, all were in danger.
You do understand that US A.I.D. is not AID, right? The opposite side made it sound that way, but that is not what it is.

Agency for International Development.

Why is America responsible for the world? Your own country is so broken, but you think its ok to take money and try and help other broken countries, but not fix your own broken country? WTF?

Some of the stuff US A.I.D. was doing, was not helping children or feeding anyone. Even the right acknowledged there were some legitimate cases, but the majority was not legitimate. Either CIA funnelling money or politicians funnelling money. A lady on twitter actually tracked it some of it that went via all these NGO's and back to a non-profit or such that just happened to have a board of politicians and CEO's, of which they did little to nothing other than pay themselves massive salaries for sitting on those boards. They were funnelling US tax payers money and paying themselves. This is both sides.

The media are 100% lying about Trump. Both sides. Just like they lied about every president before him.

Look at California and the homeless crisis. Billions of dollars, all gone, somewhere, but the homeless have only become more. Why? Because its a payment, a business, it will never get better, just worse and people looking for more Government dollars to pretend to fix it, but really they will encourage it to be worse.

Systems are broken and they need to be fixed.

and there it is, the first personal attack in our experiment. We were told to moderate ourselves, take a shot at it you are allowed to post again @NightSkystars1313
Debate is needed more now than ever but every time a debate breaks out on a public forum personal attack is not far behind, and after that debate crumbles into uselessness.
sad to see this experiment fail so quickly @anthony

As per the opening post, they have been post banned 7 days, content deleted.

@enough, I expected it. People struggle to regulate themselves, and IMO, this type of post can help you, or hinder you. I hope it helps many with PTSD learn to regulate themselves, and the few it hinders, they will be removed from the debate.

yep, gotta agree. we are and have been a screwed up mess, inside of our borders and outside too. The whole system of government has been in need of good honest respectable leadership for a long time. I feel like i haven't been 100% aligned with any politician since i started paying attention around 1970, but less and less since first the tea party and now the trump era has steered the republican party away from the values i carry with me. Democrats are a ness too, but they still hold our bill of rights sacred and speaking as a grandfather thats the ball game for me.

yes, AID is not all food in mouths, but my tax dollars going into a can of peanut butter on a table where its needed is pretty important to me. A year ago those cans were taken away in an effort to cut the waste yes, but i am reminded of the old saying about babies being thrown out with the bathwater.

human rights. rule of law. my vote will go for those candidates that hold those values dear and i will fight against those that dont. homelessness, over reach outside of our borders, lots of other problems you didn’t mention that probably dont get much press in Australia also need to be fixed, with you on that for sure.
Gotta ask, should we be as embarrassed by our global standing as it feels like we should be on this side of the border?

To my knowledge, people I speak to about America, America is not favoured. America should stay out of everyone else's countries. Just stop bombing them, stop invading them, just stop.

Rule of law is not a good thing. Law should change constantly based on our times we live. People find old laws and use them today, when the discussion becomes about that law and its relevance. People find current laws and manipulate them for their benefit. Australia has had a few of those, and then we changed those laws to be relevant today, not when they were written, and not hang onto them for prosperity sakes, because they're actually damaging to todays society values. Honestly, rule of law is a mockery the moment you see it in front of a judge and they do what they want, not what the law says. It happens a lot. We have a huge issue with it here right now based around youth crime. The law says one thing, judges are doing another, being they keep letting them go on parole and there are teens with 50+ current pending cases on parole, repeat offending. Police keep catching them, locking them up, judges let them go. The population has been getting upset about this, so the politicians are now being forced to change the laws because they WILL be voted out at the next election if they don't. They have to make them stricter where judges can't circumvent things with their bias and authority.

I know America has a massive problem with it. All these far left judges making decisions, not on law, but on money and power to try and cause problems for trump. This is proven the moment your high court overrules the lower judges decisions, not being made on law. Its all a mockery, law that is, because people are the problem. We get things right, we get things wrong, and too many times people don't want to admit such issues.

Australia, before Trump, we had some border immigration issues with illegals on boats, and we had some issues with paying monies to help other countries, other entities, where we had our own issues. The population here is not political, but when a problem exists, the majority of Australians will usually go to commonsense, crack the shits, and put a lot of pressure on politicians to make change or they are getting voted out. Our country literally flip flops between blue and red, both states and national. Ours are the opposite of America. We vote for who is going to solve the current problems, not who's values we may align. The US votes on aligned values, and look where that mess is right now! UK has gone down a similar path and its in a world of hurt, currently going through radical change to undo a lot of damage done politically.

Our Labor party is progressive, our Coalition party is more liberal valued. Labor used to be more favourable on immigration, pro-rights and all this nonsense, and they got voted out and couldn't get a foot in the door, because the Coalition stopped illegal immigration (shipped them right back where they came from) and they cut back foreign aid and UN monies. f*ck everyone else when you have your own issues. You first, then help others. No country can continue to help other countries, when they're falling apart themselves. Labor got onboard, they changed their policies because they would not get voted in again if they didn't. Now they are tough on illegal immigration and tough on our budget. Coalition got loosey goosey with our money and borrowing, put us in the shit, they got kicked to the curb and Labor got in. Normally Labor was shit with money, now they're the ones being responsible. You couldn't dream this shit up, to be honest. The world has issues.

There is a young lady on youtube, Kaitlen Bennett, I think her name is. She is like a Charlie Kirk personality, runs around talking to progressives, identifying issues and rhetoric. She has people who claim illegals should be allowed, they say they would house them, then she brings one forward for housing, and the very same person in seconds won't do what they just said they believe. Basically, its a nice value and belief, but someone else needs to do it, I will just say it. She does this many times across different scenarios, proving people are full of shit.

I remember someone mentioning about bombing drug boats is bad. Why? Our Navy used to do that. They probably still do. If you are trying to bring drugs into a country, the penalty is death if caught. That is an honestly good deterrent. Much better than, if I get caught I will get three good meals and a bed, and relaxation, games, etc, in jail, all whilst costing a countries citizens the entire time for something they never did, nor wanted. Why should anyone pay to house illegal immigrant criminals? Death or deportation, but not jail at the citizens cost, that is just another business model being introduced for someone to encourage this for profit.

My values are mixed, probably half and half liberal and progressive. I like the commonsense aspects of both, toss the other half in the bin as stupidity, and I vote for who is going to fix current issues, not worsen them purely based on my beliefs and values. People have to be flexible, otherwise your country goes to custard.

@anthony
yeah, like any rule book there are those that study it well and learn how to break the rules and get away with it.
The base rules of our constitution are clear enough and have long histories of precedent supporting them. Rules like separation of powers (executive, judicial, legislative) separation of church and state and all of the civil rights including free speech (free press) right to assemble and protest, all of the many rules governing the three branches of government including rules concerning elections and term limits for elected officials. Many are outdated, many are basic to what makes us americans. I am not against change, i just think it should be cautious considered change brought about by the legislative branch and the basic rules laid down 250 hard fought years ago.
And yes, i am embarrassed by the crap that has been going on and have been basically since Bush II and the do nothing congresses that followed.
There are no easy answers. These days we are so divided that debate and discussion are really quite useless. If the republicans had a leader that tried to bring us together we might get out of this mess intact. If the democrats had a leader that reigned in the out of touch liberalism that alienates the religious right to the point that they will vote for anyone that promises to fight abortion and gay marriage, we might get through this.

A fascist is a fascist is a fascist. Going after political enemies with intent to punish them for doing their jobs while they worked for the previous administration is fascism at least in intent. From Fauci to Comey to the latest hearings aimed at Jack Smith, these attacks go nowhere. Is he a fascist because he tried? I think so.
I thought Charlie Kirks debates ( the prove me wrong rallies) were a bright light that could get us going back to a working compromise if given a chance. Nope.
I am glad my vote is my own business and that the way it us counted is scrutinized and called into question and upheld by judges on both sides of the debate. thats the rule of law i am talking about.

Well said.

From my understanding, that is about every President of the USA in the last 30+ years. They've all gone after political opponents to some degree, probably no more than the last one, which I believe, is the most in US history. Biden would have to have the most fascist intent of all presidents to date, and then the Biden Government commuted over 4000 people, most pre-emptively, for crimes that don't exist, apparently.

System is broken, needs to be torn down and rebuilt, with common-sense, integrating the best of both sides, leaving all the rest in the bin.

I try to stay out of politics. I hold them all in very low regard. The basic rule is that sh!t flows downhill. No matter which party is in control they work at centralizing more power to the detriment of the individual. It is the little guy who always holds the bag when it comes to unintentional consequences. Honestly, I don’t know how blue collar families are surviving. The US got itself in an unsustainable situation. We needed a disruptor and boy we got one. It is ugly to watch. I don’t like the lying on both sides. I could go on and on about the negative aspects of Trump but unlike many, I can see some good coming out of all the chaos. For example, fentanyl deaths dropped dramatically in the past year. Could heightened border security be paying off?

I am really tired of the polarization. Our so called leaders seem hell bent on creating more division rather than building trust on the issues we can agree on and then face the tough ones. Sometimes I think modern life is inconsistent with human nature and thus people are constantly amped up, ready to explode and sometimes they do.

I live in Arizona 8 miles from the border. Not far from here the Border Patrol shot a guy today. The claim is he shot at a Border Patrol helicopter and then at agents on the ground. I have no idea if the story is true or not. Our whole area has been militarized. We have low flying Apache helicopters flying around, armored observation vehicles. And all sorts of high tech towers popping up. I ride my motorcycle near the wall often. A few weeks ago I saw a pick up truck parked next to the wall. Non government plates, no signage. The guys in it were in civilian clothes. It looked suspicious so when I came across a BP truck a little ways away I told him what I saw. He said they were military. Weird stuff happening here and it doesn’t appear to be what they say it is. I don’t believe any of them anymore. It appears we are being habituated to the military or quasi military everywhere. It reminds me of London when the IRA was active. I have started carrying my passport card in my wallet. I also think about just leaving and moving to New Zealand which I can do due to dual citizenship.

I am Canadian. My country has been invaded by Indians. Chinese too. Lots of other ethnicities. Iranians. After having been homeless for about 15 years, I got work at a very well respected university utilizing my lived experience. We traveled all over Ontario interviewing homeless people so we could get a handle on why the services were not helping the homeless get stability, work, etc. We interviewed a whole heck of a lot (thousands) of homeless people across the province.

They were almost all white people who had lived and worked their entire lives in Canada. Now they are living on the streets. Some war vets mixed in there too. Doesn't that seem odd?

My son hired my neice last summer because she worked at McDonalds and they were not giving her any hours. 4 hours a month I think she was getting. Know who was getting the hours? The newly settled Indians. Oh, and they were given money to settle for homes and cars while people who have lived in Canada all their lives were losing their houses and going homeless.

See how that works? They let people come into your country and they replace the population who was born there - replaced because those who were born there die a slow and painful death as they no longer have the resources necessary to live.

Somalians are having a great time (until recently) in Minnesota. Anyone hear anything about the massive amounts of fraud going on there?Oh, wait, no? Why not? Because certain people are screaming about the injustice of people getting shot dead when they try and run over the people who are meant to eject murderers and rapists out of the country.

This misplaced empathy for people who murder and rape and steal from natives to the country they have come into is disgusting. This is no mistake. This is war. There is a reason this is happening. It is part of a plan to put these globalists into place and I am not having it.

Yup. There really needs to be more safe guards on all politicians. Start with 100% open system where press have full access to everything, every cent that gets spent, the lot. Our Australian system works similar to that, and its the only thing that keeps the politicians inline, for the most part. They would all be highly corrupt otherwise. And why not, without public oversight. Politicians work for the people, and the system must be 100% transparent so the people can monitor what goes on.

We don't need to monitor here, because the media do, and boy oh boy, when they sniff something wrong, they have themselves a story and people lose their jobs, get charged, etc etc.
It is part of a plan to put these globalists into place and I am not having it.
I don't like globalization. I think it was one of the worst things economists ever did. We need to disconnect currencies, all countries need to get back to manufacturing, and importing more raw materials (swapping those globally), but building things themselves for their needs. Globalization is a stack of cards, and China is on top of that more and more daily because of cheap labour and an abundance of it.
