Sure, I'm OK. This is an old photo. I think she didn't like the camera/phone so close to her face! Now she's used to it! :P This is Doozer, the dog I've trained for my folks (Kira thinks he's hers!)

My dog and cats get me through minute-by-minute. My dog Sadie is an incredible soul and deals with four cats. One of them, Leo, always tries to steal her seat on her dog bed. Sadie is so patient; she paces slowly for me to notice; then, I say to Leo, "Hey, that's not your bed"; Sadie wags her tail and takes her place again. She's not registered as a "service dog" but she fits the bill. All my beloveds are rescue animals.

theory behind 'service animals'?

Nugget will check the house for me when we've been out. She wakes me from nightmares. She will sleep right up against me when I'm having a bad night. She will check the house if I hear a noise. She is comforting when I'm stressed. I can look at her and see that she is calm so I don't have to worry. She is huge and protective, so I worry less when we are out in public. She has been a big help to me.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong in sharing a pic, but I've got a Sadie too! Mine is a Boston Terrier, inherited when my aunt passed away. She's not certified, but my aunt had an anxiety disorder and Sadie knows how to help. When I was caring for my Gram, Sadie was the alzheimer's therapy dog- I'd take her along and she'd sit on Gram's lap while I helped out.

You have a beautiful dog and you have a beautiful soul. Do not let anyone tell you differently. My pets keep me happy when I am sad, and they keep me active when I am bored. God loves you, and so do I, as a child of God.
