A tool that you may find useful in the future - when you know the topic could veer into sexual trauma, try framing your questions with "Without going into specifics, can you clarify [the issue you have a question on]". it lets you be clear about what you want - states the boundary within the context of the lecturer/listener relationship.
It also gives you a clear ability to cut the person off, if they shift into detail.The above would have sufficiently answered my question in the context that it was asked in and the detail ofbwhat a child might go through if they were groomed doesnt add anything useful to it.
