Hi,
I'm John. I was recently diagnosed with PTSD. I started doing online therapy a few months ago to help deal with some issues with my marriage. As the therapist dug into my past, I went into a very deep depression, started dissociating - started having panic attacks.
Since then I've gone to a Naturopath, My Primary Care Physician, An in-house therapist in my doctor's office, a couple's therapist. I just started with my new therapist and after 40 minutes, she was like, "yeah, I think you have PTSD". So I'm starting to learn about it.
I grew up in a household with alcohol abuse and pretty severe physical abuse. We fled the house on numerous occasions, and I feared for my life as a child more than once. My family life pretty much always sucked. I repressed a lot of memories, which are now starting to come up. I'm married and have kids and my wife is in absolute shock to hear me talk about what went on.
Anyway - that's me in a nutshell.
