It is one thing to say, "In chat the other day a few of us were talking about drugs...."

It is another to do:

ISupportHer: oh yer... drugs kick arse. I take them all the time.
Username: me too dude, ecstasy all the way, I love the stuff.
Anthony: Awesome... you're all f*ckin nuts IMO.

One is generic, no names, no specifics. The other is blatantly breaching a persons privacy.

I think that as a community it is important to take one further step. And of course this isn't a disciplinary problem but instead a mater of discipline.

There are hurting people on here. Every time we involve them (use their name) we need to think, "would they do so themselves. Would they feel good that I mentioned them in such a way." If not, we need to hold our tongues.

I think everyone already knows that so I don't expect...

Now, the two are not the same. Someone could want you to quote them, but it wouldn't necessarily be legal to. On the other hand, someone could have oops'd in a public area and quoting might be legal but hurtful to them.

Just saying, keep it in mind!
