I don't have a problem with the rules, it's just that it seems to not be taken into consideration that even if we read the rules, I personally have trouble remembering what I read, and don't seem to be able to hold onto the information very long, and when words like 'warning' are sent to me, as though I am in trouble...again, it can trigger old stuff for me, which makes it hard for me to not respond in a way that isn't anti-authoritarian. It FEELS like an attack, whether or not it is meant that way.
Even the word 'alert' when I receive a 'like' from someone, can trigger some sort of 'danger' sense in my brain. An alert is bringing your attention to something that is a threat I thought...not someone telling you they like your comment.
I can handle bluntness in person, but online it really does have an attacking quality to it, which is unfortunate, as I realise everyone has their own style of communicating.
I can see that it would be frustrating for mods to have to continually reinforce these rules to people, and I hope there is some understanding there as to why this is necessary. I don't think most people defy the rules deliberately here, they just simply cannot concentrate long enough for the rules to really soak in.
