I'm so not up with more recent Disney movies. I haven't seen Brave or Frozen. Based on the pics I have seen of those characters, I don't think they were edgy enough or well, just plain tough enough! Why do all these "princesses" have to be so feminine? Honestly, I think it sends the wrong message to MANY young girls who simply know they aren't the feminine girly-girl type. Where are the roll models for these girls?

Yep, I loved Wonder Woman. She was pretty bad-ass. They've remade every other super hero on the planet, why not her? Oh, wait, I think I remember hearing rumors about projects in the works, but the women they picked were so NOT the right type. Megan Fox? Oh, please! Hollywood would DEFINITELY need to pick outside of the A-list or even B-list celebs, pick someone SO outside of the box for that role. Somehow I don't think that they would! Its sad though, as simply picking a bad-ass no nonsense woman for that role could have the power to turn the tide on so called Hollywood beauty ideals.

oops, spoke too soon....apparently there is a movie in the works set to come out in 2017. The actress isn't really bad-ass enough to be Wonder Woman though....

Mulan... Is actually based on a true story :D Except the war lasted a loooooong time. I have 11 years stuck in my head but that might not be correct. She also ended up serving as a general & counselor to the Emperor.

Anastasia... Is a what if? (Half true story) But, if so... That character watched her entire family get murdered, was shot herself, and survived. To then live on the streets when Disney catches up with her, sans traumatic memories & all.

Penny... From the Rescuers is an orphan kidnapped to work as a slave digging through traps in a mine too narrow for adults to fit through. For a little kid, she's got a lot of spunk. But they still played her as a little kid. Which is kind of awesome.

Nyla... (Lionking) is just a total badass

Duchess... (Granted, another cat) She and her children survive an attempted murder, and then travel the countryside, shacking up with ruffians & getting mixed up in the Jazz scene (romaticized today, but waaaaaaay more scandalous than a strip club in modern parlance. This one cracks me up, cause she's all bourgeois feminine from start to finish, but she gets the job done no matter what's in front of her. Super femme but also super tough.

Vanelope... (Wreckit Ralph) is another total badass. :D Yah, Glitch!

<grin> The chick in Brave? Totally has my hair. In a prettier color, but "pretty" is definitely not what they were aiming for, here. Lol. Nor Lilo, from Lilo & Stich. Thank goodness. Cause she's another little kid. Her older sister is smokin, but Neier of the two are the shy, retiring, damsel types.

I'm more of a DreamWorks & Pixar fan, myself... But Disney has some strong female leads.

Oh I forgot all about Lilo's big sister. Love her!!! Only bad thing is, last time I watched lilo and stitch it ended up somehow being a big trigger and left me in a pretty bad state after :shifty:still amazing movie though!

Perhaps she could do something amazing and magical with her symptoms??
Er...like...harness all her adrenalin/cortisol for super-speed/strength?
Or...perhaps she could go into some kind of psychic state/see into the future during dissociation or sleep disturbance?

And you could get a good message of self-care in there too - yoga, meditation, deep breathing, talking about how she feels... :-)

And her therapist could be her fairy godmother...or the evil queen, depending on what route you want to go down!
