I'm glad therapy looks promising. Trust is a hard thing to gain back but I believe it can be done.
That's the same with my old town, I didn't want to run into anyone I knew. I never go to the High School reunions. Sometimes you just aren't meant to be there. That's quite alright. Good luck, I wish you well!
