I was reading this topic for so long already. Today I registered myself finally at the forum and I want to post in this one first.

I listen a lot to The Offsprings "Kristy are you doing okay?" recently

There's a moment in time and it's stuck in my mind
Way back when we were just kids
'Cause your eyes told the tale of an act of betrayal
I knew that somebody did
Oh, waves of time
Seem to wash away the scenes of our crimes
For you this never ends
Can you stay strong?
Can you go on?
Kristy, are you doing okay?

To me it really matters that people DO notice and Do care, because I always had the feeling nobody did.

Another one I like is Evanescances "Made of Stone"

Speak your mind,
Like I care
I can see your lips moving
I've just learned not to hear
Don't waste your time

It's never enough for you baby
Don't want to play your game anymore
No matter what you say
I'm all out of love for you, baby
And now that I've tried everything
I'll numb the pain,
'Til I am made of stone

It speaks to the numbing I do a lot of the time.

There are so much more songs. I relate very easily to most of the discography from Linkin Park, I'll post something from them later

Linkin Park - Numb
"Can't you see that you're smothering me,
Holding too tightly, afraid to lose control?
'Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you."

Basically explains me and my father's relationship. :shifty:

Evanescence
"Sick"

Embrace the silence
'Cause there's nothing
That can change the way I feel
Taken all that you wanted
Now there's nothing
That can change the way I feel

Hold on, little girl
The end is soon to come

And I already said Linkin Park. I think Chester is a PTSD sufferer too, because of his past, the drugs and LP's lyrics.
When I hear Papercut for example, I always think about how that fits perfectly with the feeling of being set of by something.

"Papercut"

Why does it feel like night today?
Something in here's not right today.
Why am I so uptight today?
Paranoia's all I got left
I don't know what stressed me first
Or how the pressure was fed

And there's also "Easier to Run"Actually one of my favourites

It's easier to run
Replacing this pain with something numb
It's so much easier to go
Than face all this pain here all alone

Sometimes I remember the darkness of my past
Bringing back these memories I wish I didn't have
Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back
And never moving forward so there'd never be a past

My favorite heart song since forever...

Looking For Space John Denver

On the road of experience, I'm trying to find my own way. Sometimes I wish that I could fly away When I think that I'm moving, suddently things stand still I'm afraid 'cause I think they always will

And I'm looking for space And to find out who I am And I'm looking to know and understand It's a sweet, sweet dream Sometimes I'm almost there Sometimes I fly like an eagle And sometimes I'm deep in despair

All alone in the universe, sometimes that's how it seems I get lost in the sadness and the screams Then I look in the center, suddently everything's clear I find myself in the sunshine and my dreams

And I'm looking for space And to find out who I am And I'm looking to know and understand It's a sweet, sweet dream Sometimes I'm almost there Sometimes I fly like an eagle And sometimes I'm deep in despair

On the road of experience, join in the living day if there's an answer, it's just that it's just that way

When you're looking for space And to find out who you are When you're looking to try and reach the stars It's a sweet, sweet sweet dream Sometimes I'm almost there Sometimes I fly like an eagle But sometimes I'm deep in despair Sometimes I fly like an eagle, like an eagle I go flying flying

"Pontoon" by Little Big Town. If there was ever a song that captures what I love best in this world and "me" at my best, it is this one. Just living and loving life. Wish I could be this way more often.

Back this hitch up into the water
Untie all the cables and rope
Step onto the astro turf
Get yourself a coozie
Let's go
Who said anything about skiin'?
Floatin' is all I wanna do
You can climb the ladder
Just don't rock the boat while I barbeque

Chorus:
On the pontoon
Makin' waves and catchin' rays up on the roof
Jumpin' out the back, don't act like you don't want to
Party in slow motion
Out here in the open
Mmmmmmm...motorboatin'
(Hoo hoo hoo)
Reach your hand down into the cooler
Don't drink it if the mountains aren't blue
Try to keep it steady as you recline on your black innertube

Chorus:
Pontoon
Makin' waves and catchin' rays up on the roof
Jumpin' out the back, don't act like you don't want to
Party in slow motion
Out here in the open
Mmmmmm...motorboatin'
(Hoo hoo hoo)
(Hoo hoo hoo)

Bridge:
5 mile an hour with aluminum side
Wood panelin' with a water slide
Can't beat the heat, so let's take a ride

Chorus:
On the pontoon
Makin' waves and catchin' rays up on the roof
Jumpin' out the back, don't act like you don't want to
Party in slow motion
I'm out here in the open
Mmmmmmm...motorboatin'
On the pontoon
(Hoo hoo hoo)
On the pontoon
(Hoo hoo hoo)
Back this hitch out into the water
On the pontoon
(Hoo hoo hoo)
(Hoo hoo hoo)

Nothing serious here. Good video just to feel good.

When I feel really tensed I always listen to the Kelly Family, because it's my childhood music. It made me fall asleep when I was like 8 or 9.

I like this one especially (from their newest album)

"Blood"

We're living in a time where loving is so hard,
I can't even help my little brother,
but silence is a crime when someone needs your help,
GOD have mercy on me today.

And a little later

This song is also dedicated to all the kids living in this society
who are being deprived of their basis rights,
the right to a peaceful home,
the right to an education,
the right to innocence,
the right to health and food,
to love and to be loved,
the right to a joyful youth.
And my heart goes out especially to my nephews

I discovered this not so new band called Uh Huh Her that reminds me a lot of Veruca Salt, Nina Gordon, Dido and so on. Their song 'Time Stands Still' resonates with me. The lyrics aren't all that impressive, but the music- oh good God it is enthralling. I love it.

"Breathe" -Ryan Star

She's fine, most of the time
She takes her days with a smile
She moves like, a dancer in lights
Spinning around to sound
But sometimes she falls down

[Chorus:]
Breathe, just breathe,
Take the world off your shoulders
and put it on me
breathe, just breathe,
Let the life that you live be all you need

She likes New York at night
She dreams of running away
Shine on, bright like the sun
when even the sky turns grey
I need you to hear me say
I need you to hear me say

[Chorus]

Let go of the fear, let go of the doubt,
Let go of the ones who try to bring you down
You're gonna be fine, don't hold it inside
And if you hurt right now
Then let it all come out

[Chorus]

Loveneverfails, when my mom died in 2011, my then 12 year old son, looked at me and said "Mom, breathe, just breathe." After that a family friend gave me a stone to remind myself to do just that.

Thank you for reminding me with this song. Just breathe.

"Demons" -Imagine Dragons

When the days are cold
And the cards all fold
And the saints we see
Are all made of gold

When your dreams all fail
And the ones we hail
Are the worst of all
And the blood’s run stale

I want to hide the truth
I want to shelter you
But with the beast inside
There’s nowhere we can hide

No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come

When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
Don’t get too close
It’s dark inside
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide

When the curtain’s call
Is the last of all
When the lights fade out
All the sinners crawl

So they dug your grave
And the masquerade
Will come calling out
At the mess you made

Don’t want to let you down
But I am hell bound
Though this is all for you
Don’t want to hide the truth

No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come

When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
Don’t get too close
It’s dark inside
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide

They say it's what you make
I say it's up to fate
It's woven in my soul
I need to let you go

Your eyes, they shine so bright
I want to save their light
I can't escape this now
Unless you show me how

When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
Don’t get too close
It’s dark inside
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
