I hear you. I have a wealthy stalker, as well.

If this were mine, this would be a win/win for him.

- Revenge against the article by costing me my health insurance (mine wouldn't stop there, do a complete identity check... Taxes, credit, the works.)
- Possible double bonus by getting me to disclose my address to a system he already has compromised.

The end run around this scenario is to get a local business involved. So the insurance company has a physical address that is not your address, so you can keep your health insurance and he can't have your real address. I would suggest a lawyers office, women's shelter, police advocate... Anyone who is used to this kind of stalking nightmare.

You need your healthcare. Ask any one of our American buddies on site what it costs to pay when you have no coverage. Just wondering , when you signed up for your P.O. Box, did you have to provide your street address at the time?

$ Millions per week hospital inpatient stay with ICU & surgeries.

Rx = $100-$500 for most 30 day supplies.
Some are much worse (imatrex for migraines is over $100 a pill, for example), others you can get cheaper through a friendly vet. If you don't mind a chewable with animal by products being the flavor.

As some ballpark numbers. No insurance here for 6 years. Ironically, whilst working in a hospital. But only 31 hours a week, so no health insurance (health coverage at 32hrs). After a car wreck, I Tq'd my arm and caught a bus to the ER. Because I knew it would take me over a year to pay off the ER fee, and couldn't afford an AMBO fee on top of that.

I'm dealing with the same thing: I have broken local laws by not doing a change of residence on my bank account and cell phone. I'm keeping all information about our whereabouts and my daughter's school confidential. I'm living like a fugitive, while my stalker does not only have freedom, but is breaking all kinds of laws with impunity. And the stronger one's defenses, the more incensed stalkers become. I have also learned to look at 'coincidences' differently.

How do you have to provide an address? Do you need proof of residence, or do you simply provide it over the phone? If the latter, I would give his address (if it is still the same one where you escaped from). If he is behind all of this, you'll quickly be called out, and you can always act innocent - 'Oh, that's an OLD address'. If he is not behind all of this, no-one will ever be the wiser. Since you also have postal address, nothing will be mailed to his address.

I've had to do crazy things like that.

Exactly! Thank you so much for this! I feel like I am being gaslighted by the world. 'Why would he want to do that? But that doesn't make sense. How many years ago did this happen? There, there, now don't you worry.' Like I am some little kid who is letting their imagination run wild on them. Seriously embarrassed to explain what happened because people just look at me with these eyes.....like I am some sort of nut bar. I don't know why stalkers stalk! I can't answer these questions! This is the answer!

Mine will do a complete check as well. And he will hurt people. I know this. Finally he has a way of forcing me out again.

I just know I listened to my inner voice all along and I am still alive. If I had listened to the advice of others - professionals for crying out loud - - who should have known - are paid to know!....I shudder to think what would have happened to me. If they get back into my life all the work I have done to heal will implode and I will end up in a home drooling in my porridge. They won't stop until I am. That is the fun of the game. .

I can tell you have dealt with this Pencil. I am so sorry for that. You have great advice. I have done this and yes, the authorities found out. Unfortunately this time I must provide tax stubs, proof 9 ways from Sunday that I 'live' where I state.

Oh, Friday Jones I am so very sorry for this. I can't imagine (although I may be able to sometime soon).

Here is the thing though. If I publish my address I feel like I will be making many hospital visits. Or maybe just one permanent one. If I just hide and shiver in the house that nobody knows, because I refuse to give my address, about then nobody where to find me, harass me, try to flush me out etc. One day years down the road I will keel and hopefully I would have hidden myself so well that nobody would find my corpse for years afterwards.

Heavy sigh. This is not what I envisioned my life to be.

Same here. These people act so outrageously that it makes the victim look nuts when they try to explain. Been there, done that, got rows and rows of designer t-shirts ... and shirts, and pants and pantaloons.

I know this only too well. There has got to be a way to beat this, and I'm exploring many options at the moment.

No, no protection order. At the time my ex-brother-in-law (a criminal lawyer) had police convinced I was a paranoid schizophrenic. After a trip to urgent care after I left the house the doctors felt the same way based on the quote "outrageous story" that I was telling. This idea was quickly squashed when I had a stream of people who had known me from a very young age (teachers, professionals thank god) who spoke to the doctor and assured him this was not so. That did not help when it came to litigation. I had to have my lawyer escort me to the freaking bathroom every time we had a break during legal proceedings. That seemed nuts to most people. In between my house was being broken into, books left to open pages, on the table that I didn't put there, doors left open, things smashed in the house. I called police but they said that there was no sign of break in so they couldn't say it was me. These are the same police who came to the matrimonial house when I was being terrorized.

I do however, have an order that has just been extended with another guy - however he is not the one I am worried about here. It is lawyer dude who can get any and all information on me and has a stream of criminal clientele that he used to break into my house when I finally got into one. They found me there because they had a tracking device in a box that came from the house we lived in together. Crazy sounding? yes. My reality? Yes again.

If this starts again I will be - without a doubt - certifiable. I am not functioning now - can't go out - can't make decisions to save my life and am seriously thinking that giving up my license, my OHIP are the only options available to me at this point.

I said at the beginning of all of this that I would get better or die trying. This is making me realize that I meant that. I will not live a life of mental hell because a bunch of yahoo's are planning on driving me insane. Not going to happen. It may not sound sane to most, but this is hardly a sane situation.

I've read my HIPPA rights and it includes any third party request for health care info. I sign that I have received the rules and I have to sign allowing my provider to release my info for insurance. I am not surprised that the police and FBI aren't interested in enforcing this, but a civil suit would.
