Symbols Of Faith - A Game

you can't start a thread like this and not share yours @Friday.

:roflmao: I forgot!

A star. An engraved pocket watch (I would want a picture of my kid in it, but I have a rule against taking pics of people I love out in public). IF I could take it anywhere I wanted a SigSauerP226 (no use against vampires ;) At least no use shooting them), and I’m not exactly sure what it says about me that I view a pistol as a token, except that I’m a rifle girl when I’m serious; but as far as faith goes it’s faith in myself to handle what may), and a tattoo on my shoulder that’s only meaningful to me.

I think it's called a talisman? Not sure. It's interesting. It puts me in mind of something, like a mood. I like the way you wrote it, I had to read it a couple times.

I can't give myself that kind of power as much as I'd want it, like Galadriel when Frodo tried to give her the ring.

One symbol for me is the raven. In the African Yoruba tradition, the raven is the protector of the child spirit and although I am not African I adopted the symbol and have 5 of them tattoed on my arm. Once when being abused I flew away with blackbirds/ravens in my mind (dissociated) and so for me it rings true that they are protectors.

I like the winged Lion really well too, which I believe is a Christain symbol and a symbol of St Mark.

Another symbol for me is a heart as it is a universal symbol of love. I tend to take the view that everything is temporary except for love and so it holds a lot of power for me. ? I have a polished amethyst heart that was given to me by a friend to represent my recovery from abuse, so I have to add that it is a purple heart as it represents sensitive, understanding, and compassionate love.

Interesting thread!!!

The Sun, sankofa, and flashlights.

The sun for way too many reasons, siblings dearest & We must bring our own light to the darkness, Sankofa for returns & safety, no matter how far the roads, and flashlights for a promise I gave to a bunch of kids in my childhood & failed to fulfill in time... that they did not drag me yet is more faith than I have.

The kicking donkey (as in my avatar). Donkeys are just amazing. They can be the most faithful companions and humble servants if you treat them with respect, but they’re total pains in arses if you try to force them.

They’re also great contemplatives, being rooted in the deep currents of life, and that’s why they don’t want to hurry as horses do. And they just can’t be harnessed to tread the mills of the capitalist machine and yield endless profit.

For me, donkeys represent a humble yet unyielding counterforce to the objectifying, profit-oriented and compliance-demanding forces of human societal life. The forces that tell you to be a certain kind, do what others want you to do and measure your worth by the profit others can get from you.
