The last few weeks have been wonderful for me. Putting aside the PTSD and doing a lot more for myself in all sorts of ways.
Yesterday I did go out with my youngest daughter, we had a great day full of laughs and jokes about all the mistakes made while trying to get to the museum we were heading for.
My mistake was the first one, but not the worst. I had checked a re checked the timetable for the train we intended to catch, there was only 2 stops before ours on the list. Wrong the train stopped 3 times before our stop, and we got off at the 3rd as indicated. We then had to wait 1/2 an hour for the next, so we could continue our journey.
When we finally arrived at our destination, I did know which way to go, it was a straight road we had to follow for a nice 20 minute stroll. My dear daughter then saw a sign for where we were heading and decided because of the train mishap, we would follow that. 2 miles and a hour or more later and a wrong turn through lack of more signs, and checking google maps for directions, we finally arrived at the museum and park.
We spent a wonderful few hours looking round the museum, butterfly house, where I was attacked by a big butterfly LOL, then the gardens before going for something to eat. As we left the park by the gate I had intended on arriving at, we saw the turning that took us the loooong way round to the museum, it was only a few hundred yards form the turning she took us up, after me getting the number of stops wrong Ha. We followed our museum with a wonder round the small town and a bit of retail therapy.
On our way back on the train, it DID only stop twice before we arrived back in our local town. We did have a good laugh and joke about it all though, as now she is older and understands more of how PTSD effects me than my oldest daughter seems to do, and we are more like friends than Mother and Daughter.
Next month we are having a day out at the coast, weather permitting.
